Photographer-owned advice

A wedding photo booth guest book that works

A blank album beside the printer is not a workflow. Give guests duplicate strips, the right supplies, a clear instruction, and enough room to leave a note without blocking the booth.

Make it obvious

Guests should understand the guest book in five seconds

The cleanest instruction is: keep one strip, stick one strip, write a note. Duplicate 2×6 prints make that behavior natural because guests do not need to choose between their keepsake and the couple's book.

Place the album where the prints emerge, but leave enough room for the next group to collect theirs. One small sign is more useful than several decorative paragraphs.

The entire sign

Keep one. Stick one. Write something kind, useful, or ridiculous.

Use supplies that survive

Choose an album, adhesive, and pens for real event conditions

Use a flat-opening album with pages large enough for a strip and a note. Test the adhesive on the actual page stock before the wedding. Photo corners look elegant but can be slow; glue sticks can wrinkle thin paper; tape runners are fast when guests understand them.

Choose archival pens that dry quickly and remain legible on the page color. Metallic pens need testing. Put backups in a labeled drawer or box.

  • Flat-opening album with sturdy pages
  • Tested adhesive or tape runners
  • Quick-drying pens with backups
  • One concise instruction sign
  • Small waste container for adhesive liners

Give it a station

Separate writing space from the posing and print line

A guest-book table needs light, chairs only if they will not trap traffic, and enough surface for two people to write at once. Keep drinks away from the album and printer.

The booth attendant manages the booth. Ask a friend, planner, or wedding-party member to check the book occasionally, attach abandoned strips, replace pens, and spread out crowded pages.

Finish it afterward

Do not worry about perfect pages during the party

Leave some blank pages and collect loose strips at the end of the night. After the wedding, attach strays, add a title page, and fill gaps with favorite images from the edited gallery.

If a handmade station sounds like work you do not want, skip it. A box of physical strips and a complete online gallery are already meaningful records of the people who celebrated with you.
